Position: Safety Officer
Department: Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
Location: Hyderabad
Reports To: Project Manager
Experience: Minimum 3–5 years in industrial, construction, or facility management environments
Job Purpose
The Safety Officer is responsible for ensuring a safe working environment by implementing, monitoring, and enforcing safety policies and procedures, reducing risk, and ensuring compliance with legal and statutory regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor safety policies and procedures across the site.
- Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
- Identify hazards, recommend corrective actions, and monitor implementation.
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements (Factories Act, OSHA, ISO, or local regulations).
- Conduct safety training and awareness sessions for employees and contractors.
- Investigate accidents and incidents, maintain records, and report findings.
- Monitor usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and other safety tools.
- Coordinate with project managers, supervisors, and contractors on safety measures.
- Prepare safety reports, documentation, and regulatory submissions as required.
Requirements
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Safety Officer in industrial, construction, or FM environments.
- Knowledge of safety laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Strong understanding of risk assessment, hazard identification, and mitigation.
- Certification in NEBOSH / IOSH / Safety Management preferred.
- Excellent communication and training skills.
- Ability to enforce safety standards and influence team behavior.
